QUID RIDES was restless in the stalls. Jockey Yeni, the rider of EVERCELL, and Jockey Pretorius, the rider of DECKIE BOY, reported that their mounts did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Penny reported that SIDECAR took no interest in running. Apprentice Murray appeared before the board and was questioned regarding his ride. He explained to the board that he had looked to his left on a number of occasions at approximately the 1700m in order to ascertain whether Apprentice Mjoka, the rider of WATERWAYS, was going to go to the front, take up the running and set the pace. The Board noted Mr Murray's explanation however advised him against the act of not continually looking around during the running of a race. LEBEOANA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. EVERCELL raced equipped with alumites. Vet: EVERCELL and SIDECAR - not striding out right front. DECKIE BOY - not striding out left front.
