BEAUFORT SEA reared in the pens. STREET FLYER (AUS), SUMMIT and MONEYBALL were slow, losing 1 length. Jockey Simons signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he failed to ride the horse STREET FLYER (AUS) out to the end of the race. In assessing the penalty the Board was of the opinion that Jockey Simons had not prejudiced his chance of losing fifth position, however, he was in contravention of Rule 62.2.3. In view of the performance from TOM FOOL, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer Moffatt was requested to report back on the condition of TOM FOOL on return to the stables. LEEULOOP JET was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Moffatt was questioned regarding the improved performance of LEEULOOP JET. He explained that the fitting of blinkers and a change of tactics accounted for the improvement. Trainer Moffatt was advised to race LEEULOOP JET similarly equipped and in a similar fashion in future. Apprentice Neethling rode his 20th winner. His apprentice allowance will be reduced to 2.5kg. SUMMIT raced equipped with a Cornell collar. Vet: LEEULOOP JET - coughing. TOM FOOL - examined post race, no significant findings. TRIP TO TROY - abnormal respiratory noise. BEAUFORT SEA - coughing. Scratched: RUSSIAN STEWARD - lame right front. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for breathalyser tests and the taking of urine samples for analysis.
