WELL INFORMED was stubborn loading. KIRKBY NINJA, ZE TZAR (AUS), BUENOS AIRES and TEMPLE ROCK were slow away and lost 1 length each. Steady rain fell before and during the running of this race. The start of this race was delayed due to the delay from the previous race. In view of the Starter's report Assistant Trainer Mtengwana was advised to re-school WELL INFORMED prior to racing again. Apprentice Thabana reported that he felt something amiss with BUENOS AIRES in the running. In view of the performance of RIPPIT WHIPPET, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine and nothing obvious was detected. Assistant Trainer Spies was asked to monitor this filly over the next 48 hours and report back anything untoward to the Stipendiary Board. THE CAT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ORCADIAN FOREST raced with a full set of alumites. Vet: BUENOS AIRES - short in front. RIPPIT WHIPPET - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: I WILL BE - insufficient recovery time. WILD NIGHT OUT - elevated temperature. The Course Farrier on duty reported that the shoes of all the runners engaged at today's race meeting were checked and confirmed with the rules. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations conformed. After the running of this race the jockeys lodged a protest regarding the deteriorating racing conditions and poor visibility making for unsafe racing. A panel was formed and after hearing the protest from the jockeys and considering concerns raised by the representatives, the panel made a decision to abandon the remainder of the race meeting. The gusting wind and steady rain which was set to continue and worsen through the afternoon made visibility very poor and racing conditions unsafe.
