WHITLEY WILLOWS, ROY'S STRIKE FORCE, TEXICAN and KISS ME NOW were slow into stride. BIG SI lost one length. LONELY ARETHEBRAVE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice de Gouveia, the rider of SHREYA'S STAR, and Jockey Kennedy, the rider of HEPTAGON, reported that their respective mounts took no interest in running. Jockey Veale reported that he felt something amiss with WHITLEY WILLOWS in running. In view of the performances of TEXICAN and MAACHAAN (AUS), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. MAACHAAN (AUS) raced wide in the early stages. Jockey Delpech signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention, in that as rider of BIG SI, he was unable to weigh out at the carded weight as confirmed in his engagement with the trainer resulting in a change of rider. WHITLEY WILLOWS raced with a tongue tie. Vet: SHREYA'S STAR - coughing. HEPTAGON - coughing, not striding out left fore. WHITLEY WILLOWS and TEXICAN - nothing obvious detected. MAACHAAN (AUS) - not striding out right fore.
