BRINKLEY jumped awkwardly outwards losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. EXPLOSIVE COOKIE was slow into stride. When questioned regarding the improved performance from ELUSIVE ROSE today, compared to the filly's previous race on 09 April 2016, over 1600m at Kenilworth, when she finished 13.00 lengths behind the winner, Stable Employee Awotar, acting on behalf of Trainer Crawford, told the Stewards that in this filly's previous race she had failed to obtain a forward position and in his opinion was not suited to racing from off the pace. The Board reviewed the patrol films of this filly's previous race and confirmed that she had been squeezed out shortly after the start and was therefore forced to race from the back of the field. The Board also noted that this filly had been ridden and raced on merit in her last run. The explanation given by Stable Employee Awotar was noted and her future performances and racing tactics will be monitored. HONOUR ROLL (AUS) took an awkward stride approaching the 1400m when brushed by EXPLOSIVE COOKIE. ELUSIVE ROSE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Scratched: MY CHERRY - elevated temperature. MERITOCRACY - nasal discharge. DONTKNOWHY - respiratory disease.
