The start of this race was delayed due to the withdrawal of FLYING MYTH. FLYING MYTH was restless in the stalls, injuring itself. The Starting Stall Certificate for this colt has been withdrawn. He was suspended for a period of seven days until recertified tractable. CHILI CON CARNE and CLOTH OF CLOUD were stubborn loading. RIGHTFUL KING flyjumped leaving the stalls losing one length. RIVARINE was hanging in from the 400m. CLOTH OF CLOUD raced green and proved difficult to assist in the concluding stages. OUTSHINE shifted in away from the crop and thereafter commenced to hang in, in the concluding stages. Jockey van der Merwe reported that APPROVAL MODE did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Marcus reported that RIGHTFUL KING made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. In view of the performance of JANOOBI, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Trainer de Kock was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this colt on return to stables. CLOTH OF CLOUD and RIVARINE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FLYING MYTH raced with a tongue tie on. HE'S A VAR raced equipped with cheek pieces. Vet: APPROVAL MODE - not striding out right front. JANOOBI - examined post-race, no significant findings. RIGHTFUL KING - no respiratory noise detected post-race. Scratched: FLYING MYTH - injured in stalls and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
