RUBY DUCHESS was fractious in the stalls, jumped awkwardly and lost 1 length. RED BLONDY stood and lost 2/3 lengths. DAME GITANO compounded passing the 200 metre mark and he did not persevere with his ride. ISTAS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Greeff was questioned regarding the improved performance of ISTAS compared to her previous race on the 18th April 2016. He explained that the 2200 metres had been too far for this filly and she had last run over 1600 metres equipped with blinkers which he removed today. The Board noted this explanation.
