The start of the 6th Race was slightly delayed to allow the ambulance, who had attended to the fallen rider in Race 5, to arrive back at the start. MISSION RAPIDS lost 2 lengths. MOGOKITY lost 1 length, VICTORY TAKEOVER flyjumped leaving the stalls. BROWN SUGAR and VICTORY TAKEOVER were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Byleveld, the rider of VICTORY TAKEOVER, was questioned with regard to the instructions given to him for the riding of this mare with particular reference to VICTORY TAKEOVER shifting off the inside rail prior to entering the straight. He explained to the Board that his instructions were to race from a handy position and to race this mare on the outside of the track in the straight, and having done that this mare had hung inwards in the straight which he had not anticipated. These instructions were confirmed by Trainer Hill. Their explanations were noted. BROWN SUGAR cast a front shoe shortly after the start and cast the other front shoe shortly before entering the final straight. BROWN SUGAR was hanging out, shifted out over the final 250 metres. VICTORY TAKEOVER was hanging in throughout. In view of the performances of CHENNAI BABE and MOGOKITY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. TEREPOVA raced with her tongue tied down. Vet: CHENNAI BABE - not striding out right fore. MOGOKITY - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: IMPALA LILY - upper respiratory infection. SKIP A BEAT - not eating up.
