NORDIC BREEZE, which was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. Trainer Snaith will be advised to have this this filly re-schooled before its next engagement. CORKER jumped outwards. Jockey Dillon reported that MIRANDA FROST returned with a nasal discharge. Jockey Fourie reported that CHILL BABY CHILL (AUS) did not stride out freely in the latter stages. Jockey Andrews reported that CORKER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. NORDIC BREEZE was forced to ease approaching the 300m off the heels of CHILL BABY CHILL (AUS), which was bumped outwards by LIVE LIFE, which had shifted out. Jockey van Niekerk, the rider of LIVE LIFE, was charged with a contravention in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to runners on his outside when he shifted out at the 300m. Jockey van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. THE MERRY WIDOW and LIVE LIFE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MIRANDA FROST - returned not striding out on the right hind. CHILL BABY CHILL (AUS) and CORKER - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
