TSUMEB TSOTSI pulled its right front shoe en-route to the start. It was established that the steel shoe had broken in half and there were no suitable replacements at the start. Trainer van Eck then opted to remove the left front shoe and TSUMEB TSOTSI raced unshod in front. This caused a delay to the start of this race. TOGETHER FOREVER was restless in the stalls. SUPER SONIC (AUS) was stubborn loading. Trainer Peter was advised to re-school this gelding prior to his next engagement. DUKE OF EDINBURGH (AUS) was slow into stride. TSUMEB TSOTSI over-raced in the early stages. GO FLY A KITE (AUS) had to steady at approximately the 1400m when awkwardly placed on the heels of FORT ROSS, which was over-racing. LET IT RAIN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. TSUMEB TSOTSI raced unshod in front. Vet: FORT ROSS - abnormal respiratory noise.
