The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to replace the left fore shoe on SAMBORA at the start. SWEET REFRAIN was restless in the stalls, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, and was reloaded. GIVEUWINGS lost five lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. SKOPELOS lost one length. SAMBORA lost one lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. GOLDEN FORT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. GIVEUWINGS shifted out leaving the starting stalls, was hanging out in the early stages and was difficult to assist. BIG CITY LIGHTS raced green. GOLDEN FORT cast the left hind shoe near the 1000 metre mark. ROY'S SAILOR shifted in away from the crop shortly before the finish. In view of the performances of STOKVEL and TERRA INCOGNITA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. REBEL CIRCUS became momentarily cramped on the inside of STOKVEL near the 200 metre mark. In view of the Starter's report concerning GIVEUWINGS, this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn until re-passed to jump on terms with a companion. PENNINGTON raced in steel shoes in front, unshod behind. Vet: STOKVEL and TERRA INCOGNITA - nothing obvious detected.
