THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE LATE SCRATCHING OF LORD AMOUR BY THE COURSE VETERINARY SURGEON. PLUVIOPHILE (D De Gouveia) and SUNBURST (S Khumalo) were stubborn loading. BELIEVEINTHEFUTURE (R Simons) was restless in stalls. LORD AMOUR (J Greyling) became restless and reared badly dislodging Jockey Greyling. This gelding was removed from the stalls, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently scratched for injuring himself. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. In view of the Starter's report with regard to LORD AMOUR, this gelding has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 11 August 2020 to 17 August 2020. LORD AMOUR may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer S Botha advised (GT). Jockey C Maujean reported that EYE OF AFRICA did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. GANG LEADER (C Zackey) hung in from the 300m. MARENGO (C Storey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Magner advised (LN).
