HYAKU spread its left front shoe en-route to the start and thereafter MERCADO lifted its right front shoe which were attended to by the Course Farrier. This caused a delay to the start of this race. In view of the performance of CHEPARDO, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Apprentice Murray, the rider of CHEPARDO, dropped his crop in the concluding stages. In the concluding stages, Jockey Herholdt was unable to ride his mount TOM FOOL out to the end of the race when he was awkwardly placed along with HYAKU between SEVEN SINGLE, which shifted out marginally away from the crop, and NETFLIX, which was hanging in from the 200m. When reviewing this incident, the Board was of the opinion that this was a racing incident and blame could not be apportioned to any individual rider. NETFLIX was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CHEPARDO - not striding out left front. Scratched: BAYLISIANA - under 12 days suspension.
