BARACAH lost two lengths leaving the stalls. ROCKY STALLONE was slow into stride. When questioned regarding his ride on ELUSIVE FLYER, Apprentice Thackeray explained to the Board that his instructions were to try and race as handy as possible, however this gelding was slow into stride and had to be hard ridden in the early stages which resulted in him sitting mid-field and not being able to fulfil his instructions. Thereafter Apprentice Thackeray decided to hold this gelding up for as long as possible before making his run. His explanation was noted. JET FEVER was momentarily inconvenienced at approximately the 400m when awkwardly placed between SAVAGE WIND and STAR POINT. PENTELIKO was baulked for a clear run from the 400m to the 300m. ENAAD (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
