The start of this Race was delayed in order for the emergency road to be cleared of fencing which was in place as a result of the air show. TRACK-KING and MY WORD MY BOND were slow into the stride. MARSHALL THAT, PRINCIPATE, ROCKEFELLER and THE ROCK lost one length. CHAP TRAP was stubborn to load. Trainer Badenhorst was advised to re-school this colt. ROCKEFELLER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. MY WORD MY BOND, SONAR ACTIVE, THE ROCK and TRACK-KING raced green. FRIEND REQUEST and ROY'S MAMBO were hanging in, in the straight. MARSHALL THAT was hanging in over the final 300 metres. MARRON shifted in slightly near the 1000 metre mark, resulting in ROY'S MAMBO being eased off the heels of MARRON. As a result THE STAG KING was switched out off the heels of ROY'S MAMBO. Jockey Lerena, the rider of MARRON, appeared before the Board with regard to the above incident and was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when allowing his mounts to shift ground in races in future. In view of the performance of FRIEND REQUEST, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Vet: FRIEND REQUEST - nothing obvious detected.
