GOLDEN PASS, which was reluctant to load and restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with DONTKNOWHY. Trainer Marcus will be advised to have this filly re-schooled before her next engagement. MRS GRAY was restless in the stalls. DONTKNOWHY, which was hanging out, shifted outwards away from the crop approaching the 100m, making contact with the hind quarters of NAVASHA on a number of occasions. This resulted in NAVASHA being severely unbalanced in the latter stages. A Member of the Stipendiary Board called for a race review, and Jockey Fayd'Herbe, the rider of NAVASHA, lodged an Objection on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. After reviewing the patrol films the Board was of the opinion that considering the degree of interference suffered and the distance between the two horses at the finish that, but for the interference, NAVASHA would have finished ahead of DONTKNOWHY, and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judges' Result. Apprentice May, the rider of DONTKNOWHY, was charged with a contravention in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to NAVASHA when he shifted outwards in the latter stages of the race. Apprentice May signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. DONTKNOWHY and NAVASHA were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. MERITOCRACY raced fitted with a tongue tie.
