MARMALADE (S Moodley) and KAY TEE PERRY (ARG) (R Danielson) both lost 1 length. Apprentice K Strydom (LADY LEGEND) had a satisfactory qualifying ride. MARMALADE (S Moodley) was cramped, clipped heels and squeezed out shortly after the start. MR MINISTER (A Arries) was hanging out on the bend and raced wide. At the 200m, KOMESHANS FLIGHT (S Veale) shifted out slightly resulting in KOMESHANS FLIGHT (S Veale), KAY TEE PERRY (ARG) (R Danielson) and NIKIYA (K Sakayi) racing in close proximity. Thereafter KOMESHANS FLIGHT (S Veale) was carried out by MARMALADE (S Moodley) which was hanging out and shifted out slightly resulting in KAY TEE PERRY (ARG) (R Danielson), NIKIYA (K Sakayi) and MR MINISTER (A Arries) being cramped and bumping on a number of occasions, and NIKIYA (K Sakayi) then being eased. KOMESHANS FLIGHT (S Veale) was steadied off the heels of MARMALADE (S Moodley), which continued to shift out, shortly before the finish. Jockey S Moodley (MARMALADE) appeared before the Board with regard to the above incidents, and was advised to take stronger measures to prevent his mounts from being involved in causing interference in future. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning COTTAGE GARDEN, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer M Dixon was advised. (Suspension Dates : 13.08.20 to the 11.10.20, bdi) TWICE AS SMART (G Wright), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (ML). KOMESHANS FLIGHT raced equipped with blinkers (advised 12.08.20/08h07). ENRAPTURE was ridden by Jockey R Fourie (advised 11.08.20/10h50).
