RACE 1: PEP SQUAD and HOUR GLASS became restless in the stalls, which resulted in Jockey Yeni, the rider of HOUR GLASS, having to remove his feet from the irons, and calling for the Starter to wait. At this point the starting stalls opened prematurely by themselves. Jockey Yeni was unseated from HOUR GLASS and PEP SQUAD was slow away. The Assistant Starter had not raised the "all clear" flag and the Starter did not effect the start. The Starter called, "false start", which was not heard by the all the riders. This Race was declared null and void and abandoned. The Gold Circle Staff was advised to check the starting stalls prior to the 6th Race where these were to be used again. RACE 2: NDIZAKAHLE and KASH IS KING (AUS) lost one length. GIMME ONE NIGHT lost two lengths. PRINCE PONTI (AUS) refused to jump on terms until the field had covered approximately 30 metres. YANKEEDOODLEDANDY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. EXPLOSIVE ROCK, MEGREZ, NDIZAKAHLE and RATSO RIZZO raced green. YANKEEDOODLEDANDY was switched out to obtain a clear run at approximately the 300 metre mark. BARON BELLET shifted out slightly, momentarily inconveniencing MOON SHADOW (AUS) at approximately 75 metre mark. In view of the Starter's report concerning PRINCE PONTI (AUS), this colt's starting stall certificate is withdrawn until re-passed tractable with a companion. The Colours of the Owners of NDIZAKAHLE should read: black, white maltese cross, halved sleeves, white cap, black peak.
