The start of this Race was delayed due to the delay in the previous Race. BREAKFAST CLUB was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BUBKA, over-racing, shifted out shortly after the start, carrying NAKED TRUTH outwards. DARTING ARROW was pulling hard in the early stages and compounded in the straight. OBLADI OBLADA brushed the inside running rail at approximately the 1200 metre mark, resulting in ROY'S DISPREN and NAKED TRUTH being forced wide for a number of strides. Jockey Khumalo reported that SCOTS PARTY was making an abnormal respiratory noise at the pull up. Jockey Forbes reported that REBEL CIRCUS was changing legs throughout. In view of the performance of DARTING ARROW, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Vet: SCOTS PARTY and DARTING ARROW - nothing obvious detected. REBEL CIRCUS - not striding out right fore. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
