MADONNA'S ANSWER jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. Jockey Herholdt reported that TROPICAL HEAT choked up in running, and as a result Jockey Herholdt eased out of the race from about the 600m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the colt on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. In view of the performance from MADONNA'S ANSWER, which made an abnormal respiratory noise in running, and Jockey van Niekerk did not persevere with his riding in the straight, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. IN THE JUNGLE and ARCHIE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BRAAISTIN raced fitted with cheek pieces. Vet: TROPICAL HEAT - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. MADONNA'S ANSWER - inspected post race and no significant finding were detected.
