ZAHRA THE PRINCESS and FORGE MISTRESS both lost 1 length. GALLIC FIRE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Eudey was questioned regarding the improved performance of GALLIC FIRE, the winner. Mr Eudey explained to the Board that this filly had been racing keenly in her previous races and that today the removal of the blinkers coupled with the fast pace early on had, in his opinion, accounted for the improved performance. He was advised to race this filly equipped in a similar manner in future and the future performances of GALLIC FIRE will be monitored by the Stipendiary Board. Jockey Randolph reported that MISTRESS ELLY took no interest in running. FLAMMAROSA was accidentally struck across the muzzle by the crop of Apprentice Godden, the rider of LIBERTY MARKET, at approximately the 300 metre mark. Vet: MISTRESS ELLY - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: MERRY CHASE - lame left fore. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed. Several Jockeys were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
