FRENCH CAPTAIN hesitated, was fractious and reared as the start was effected, which resulted in Jockey van Niekerk being dislodged. Trainer Humby will be advised that this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and is to be repassed on a race day with company. ROYAL SPOT and HAVANA BREEZE were restless in the stalls. Trainer Kruyer and Trainer Humby will be advised to have their horses re-schooled before their next engagement. The start of this race was reviewed with regard to FRENCH CAPTAIN in stall gate 1, and after reviewing the patrol films the Board established that FRENCH CAPTAIN had not been impeded and the gelding was therefore declared to be a runner. BOY SCOUT was brushed inwards at about the 200m by the loose FRENCH CAPTAIN and was forced to ease off the heels of RULE ONE. MIGHTY HASH was hanging out in the latter stages. REDWOOD VALLEY was hanging in, in the latter stages. HUGO MONTENEGRO and AUDITORIUM were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
