The start of this Race was delayed due to the farrier having to replace the left fore shoe on TOPOGRAPHY at the start. WINTER STAR and OVERLAP were slow into stride. LALA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FASHION TALK shifted in slightly approaching the 1200 metre mark, carrying SILVER INSPIRATION in resulting in CHENNAI BABE, who was racing on the inside of SILVER INSPIRATION, becoming momentarily cramped. Jockey Lembethe, the rider of FASHION TALK, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear of other runners when shifting ground in races in future. JUST RAP was baulked at approximately the 300 metre mark and was forced to ease off the heels of SILVER INSPIRATION. Thereafter at approximately the 200 metre mark JUST RAP switched in for a clear run and shortly thereafter BRIGTNUMBERFIVE, TOPOGRAPHY and OVERLAP rolled outwards, which resulted in JUST RAP becoming cramped and having to ease. TOPOGRAPHY was steadied off the heels of BRIGTNUMBERFIVE near the 50 metre mark. Jockey Fayd'Herbe reported that he felt something amiss with WINTER STAR in running and as a result he did not persevere with his ride over the final 250 metres. In view of the performance of SPIRITOS, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. The Medical Officer reported that Jockey Lembethe stood down after the running of this Race due to dehydration. Unable to continue riding. Vet: WINTER STAR - coughing and not striding out left fore. SPIRITOS - nothing obvious detected. JUST RAP - coughing.
