SWEET SINGER refused to load. The starting stalls certificate for this filly has been withdrawn and it was suspended for a period of 30 days and until recertified tractable on a race day. SHINE BRIGHT and BONNE VIE were slow, losing 1 length. Jockey Fortune appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding SHINE BRIGHT being slow away. He explained that this filly has a history of losing ground at the start and he attempted to keep his weight off of her for as long as possible. It was a difficult field to load and when the last horse entered the starting stalls he got into position and had only just secured his feet into his irons when the start was effected. PLEIADES and LIFE'S A HIGHWAY came together shortly after the start and bumped when awkwardly placed between HELLO MAH and XPAT. SACRED LAGOON raced wide on the turn and into the straight. Jockey Sturgeon reported that thereafter this filly took no interest in running. XPAT was hanging out on the turn. KASHMIRA shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. BONNE VIE was hanging in from the 600m. BONNE VIE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: PLEIADES - coughing. SACRED LAGOON - examined post race, no significant findings. XPAT - blowing heavily post race. Scratched: SWEET SINGER - refused to load. PEARL VALLEY - insufficient recovery time.
