WEALTHY and NIGHT LOCK were slow into stride. WEALTHY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. STARRETT CITY shifted in slightly resulting in PUTCHINI being eased off the heels of STARRETT CITY at approximately the 300 metre mark. Jockey van der Merwe, the rider of STARRETT CITY, appeared before the Board with regard to the above incident and was advised to take stronger measures to ensure his mounts maintain a straight course in future. ROY'S HORSE (AUS) was hanging out, shifted out resulting in DISCOURSE being steadied off the heels of ROY'S HORSE (AUS) at approximately the 350 metre mark. Jockey van Niekerk, the rider of ROY'S HORSE (AUS), appeared before the Board with regard to the above incident and was advised to take stronger measures to ensure his mounts maintain a straight course in future. IN THE MOMENT compounded badly in the latter stages. In view of this the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. In view of the performance of DISCOURSE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. ARGYLE BAY was baulked for a number of strides at approximately the 350 metre mark.
