SINGH IS KING, PANZA and SON OF ORIMANDES were slow into stride. JASON ARGO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. JASON ARGO shifted out slightly near the 250 metre mark, brushing PANZA resulting in PANZA shifting out and carrying SHOGUN outwards slightly. As a result of this TEPPANYAKI and HIP HOP DANCER became cramped for a number of strides. Thereafter, near the 200 metre mark, JASON ARGO shifted out, carrying PANZA and in turn ALBERT out for a number of strides resulting in SHOGUN being switched in to obtain a clear run. Near the 100 metre mark JASON ARGO shifted out. Simultaneously PANZA and ALBERT shifted in slightly resulting in JASON ARGO and PANZA making contact and ALBERT having to be eased off the heels of PANZA. A race review was called by Jockey Delpech, the rider of ALBERT, with regard to the above incident. After viewing the patrol video, no further action was taken. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward which was followed by an objection lodged by Jockey Khumalo, the rider of the second placed horse, PANZA, against the winner, JASON ARGO, on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. After considering the evidence presented, and considering the distance of a short head between these two horses at the finish, the Board upheld the Objection and amended the Judge's result. Jockey Fortune reported that he felt something amiss with SINGH IS KING in running. In view of the performance of SON OF ORIMANDES, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Vet: SINGH IS KING - not striding out right fore. SON OF ORIMANDES - nothing obvious detected.
