Jockey van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with MAGIC in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 350m. At approximately the 200m RAFA steadied momentarily off the heels of WISAAM (NZ), which was hanging out from the 500m. Jockey Simons reported that he felt something amiss with GREASEPAINT in running. Assistant Trainer Stegmann was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. MANX PARK was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. JUST AFRICA raced with a tongue tie on. Vet: WISAAM (NZ) - speedy cut right hind. JADE BAY - abnormal respiratory noise. MAGIC - lame right front. Scratched: CAPTURED WIND - under 12 days suspension.
