TAROCCO (T Godden) refused to load and was withdrawn. Apprentices H Lombard (SATARA) and K Brewer (MAGICALLEE) completed satisfactory qualifying rides, respectively. HUPERNIKAO (*K Strydom) was hanging in from the 400m. SOFIA ERIN (S Moodley) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. In reviewing BURGUNDY ROSE's (*J Jacobs) previous run (10.50 lengths behind the winner) on the 20 July 2020, the Board took into consideration, that it was bumped at the top of the straight, it hung in from the 300m, it was this mare's first run in KZN after a lengthy lay-off and travelling between provinces. Additionally with regard to today's winning performance, this was this mare's first run down the straight at Scottsville and that BURGUNDY ROSE maintained consistent form prior to its move to KZN. Consequently, the Board elected not to question Trainer W Miller regarding this mare's run on 20 July 2020. In view of the Starter's report with regard to TAROCCO (T Godden), this mare's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 17.08.20 to the 23.08.20. TAROCCO may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer D Drier was advised. (SN) Apprentice J Jacobs signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.10, in that he made a celebratory gesture shortly before the finish line whilst riding BURGUNDY ROSE. Accordingly, a fine of R750 was imposed. BURGUNDY ROSE (*J Jacobs), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Miller advised (DA). SATARA raced with a tongue tie and raced without blinkers (advised 14.08.20/14h49). MATADORA'S PARADE raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 11.08.20/14h19). SOFIA ERIN raced with a tongue tie (advised 14.08.20/09h14). SCRATCHINGS : TAROCCO : Withdrawn by the Starter at 15h20 and the betting was 20/1.
