KITTY COO was restless in the stalls. PURPLE ROSE and WARRIOR WOMAN were slow, losing 1 length. LILY LOVE was awkwardly placed at approximately the 150m between CINNAMON WIND and ANNA PAVLOVA, which was hanging in. Thereafter, shortly before the finish line, FISH RIVER CANYON had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of PURPLE ROSE, which shifted out away from the crop, and ANNA PAVLOVA, which continued to hang in. A member of the Stipendiary Board called a race review into this incident. The patrol films of this race were viewed in the presence of Assistant Trainer Azzie, trainer of LILY LOVE, and Trainer Alexander, trainer of FISH RIVER CANYON, and it was decided to take no further action. Apprentice Mjoka signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that he, as the rider of PURPLE ROSE, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to FISH RIVER CANYON when he shifted out in the concluding stages. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. In view of the tendency of ANNA PAVLOVA to hang and duck in in her races, Trainer Magner was advised to make the necessary corrective measures to ensure that this filly stays straight in her races in future, failing which she may be suspended. PURPLE ROSE and ANNA PAVLOVA were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. PURPLE ROSE raced equipped with steel shoes. Vet: ONE TRACK - in season. Scratched: BURUNDI BUSH - injured hip.
