SUCH A RUSH (*M H Zuma) was restless in the stalls. RUBY SLIPPERS (R Fourie), ADORABLE ANALIA (S Moodley) and HOT MONEY (D Dillon) lost 1 length, respectively. PINA COLADA (B Jacobson) was hanging in from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey B Jacobson reported that this filly did not stride out freely in the concluding stages (2.35 lengths). The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Jockey A Marcus signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse SANTA VITTORIA (AUS) more than 12 times in the entire Race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey A Marcus, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey Marcus struck the horse SANTA VITTORIA (AUS), the distance over which and manner in which Jockey A Marcus used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule.
