BEZA lost one length. CHAMPIONS CUP and KING AND EMPIRE came together and brushed shortly after the start. ROARING TIGER took an awkward stride at approximately the 800m. At approximately the 300m NERO was awkwardly placed between DE LUJO, which rolled out marginally, and SAN JULIAN BAY, which was hanging in. KING AND EMPIRE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding this geldings improved performance, Trainer Alexander explained to the Board that in its previous two runs, this horse's performance was affected because it had pulled a shoe on both occasions and in its run on the 30th of July 2016, the rider felt something amiss, did not persevere with his riding, and was found to be not striding behind out on return to stables. Trainer Alexander's explanation was noted. However, Trainer Alexander's attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running. Vet: ROARING TIGER - blowing heavily post race.
