SACRED LOTUS (C Maujean) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. FLORIBUNDA (D De Gouveia) was slow into stride. Jockey S Brown reported that NAZARETH made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. FLORIBUNDA (D De Gouveia) failed to muster speed in the early and middle stages, thereafter Jockey D De Gouveia reported that FLORIBUNDA did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 500m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with TWICE AS SPECIAL in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Leaving the 200m CRIMSON CASTLE (*P Mxoli), which had come to end of its run, was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between SHORT SKIRT FLIRT (M Thackeray) and LA VALETTE (C Bantam) which rolled out. READYSETGLO (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Azzie advised (AH). READYSETGLO was ridden by Jockey P Strydom. VET: NAZARETH coughing and blowing post race. FLORIBUNDA fatigued. TWICE AS SPECIAL examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
