The start of this Race was delayed due to the close proximity of a lightning storm. ARABIAN BAY was slow into stride. WOODY GLOW was awkwardly placed between CHARLESTON HERO and SEKONJALO (AUS) shortly after the start. ARABIAN BAY was bumped out shortly after the start by EL BOMBERO, which was carried out by CAPUCHE, which jumped out. CAPUCHE was hanging out in the concluding stages. WOODY GLOW shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. CAPUCHE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding this geldings improved performance, Trainer Mayhew explained to the Board that in CAPUCHE'S last run, this gelding raced equipped with blinkers and raced keenly. Today he had removed the blinkers and the longer distance of this race in his opinion had accounted for the improvement. Trainer Mayhew's explanation was noted. Vet: WOODY GLOW - abnormal respiratory noise. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
