SEVENTH PILLAR was slow into stride. Jockey Maujean reported that KING GERARD changed stride continually in running. Jockey van der Merwe reported that SUMMIT made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Jockey Strydom, the rider of JUST A GIGOLO, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and reminded of his obligation to ride with sufficient vigour and determination so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards. DIVAR and VULCAN were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. The new ownership of SEVENTH PILLAR should read: Sean Tarry Racing C.C. (Nominee S G Tarry) and the Colours are: yellow, fuchsia stripe, halved sleeves, yellow cap (sold with engagements). SUMMIT raced with a Cornell collar. Vet: KING GERARD - examined post race, no significant findings. SUMMIT - no respiratory noise detected post race. Scratched: BLACK COSSACK - cast in box. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
