ON CAPTAIN'S SIDE (G Cheyne) reared in the stalls, jumped awkwardly and brushed the side of the stalls. HILDEGARDE (C Orffer) and DURTY NELLY (*J Solomons) jumped slow, losing one length. Jockey C Orffer, the rider of HILDEGARDE, reported that he felt something amiss with this mare. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. The left side stirrup leather on ON CAPTAIN'S SIDE (G Cheyne) came undone leaving the starting stalls, placing Jockey Cheyne at a disadvantage throughout. In the concluding stages, Jockey Cheyne became unbalanced and as a consequence removed his right side foot from the stirrup iron. Jockey Cheyne's equipment was examined by a member of the stipendiary board and was found to be in a satisfactory condition. DURTY NELLY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Robinson was advised. (BM) Apprentice J Solomons rode DURTY NELLY (declared 08h38 on 20200822).
