Jockey Marcus and Jockey Habib did not ride at today's race meeting (medically indisposed). The Medical Officer reported that Jockey van Rensburg was examined before the 1st Race and was declared fit to ride. LIL GAMBLER was difficult to load. Trainer Wright advised to re-school this filly. SAPPHIRE PETUNIA was slow into stride. BIBLICAL SUSAN (AUS), BISCAY BABY and KENACK lost 1 length. SOMMERLIED was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BEAU VAR was hanging in throughout, shifted inwards towards the inside running rail at approximately the 150-metre mark. The saddle on JE SUIS SILVER slipped sideways passing the 300-metre mark and as a result, Apprentice Hewitson was unable to fully assist this filly thereafter. Jockey Veale, the rider of SOMMERLIED, accidentally dropped his crop at approximately the 100-metre mark. BISCAY BABY and SAPPHIRE PETUNIA raced green. In view of the performance of CAPTAINS MOLL, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. KENACK was not persevered with in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. BISCAY BABY raced in Club Colours. Vet: CAPTAINS MOLL - not striding out right fore. KENACK - nothing obvious detected. LIL GAMBLER - speedy cut right hind.
