OVAL OFFICE jumped awkwardly outwards losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. COUNT HENRY jumped awkwardly inwards losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. ROSSINI ROYALE was reluctant to load. Trainer Kotzen will be advised to have this filly re-schooled before her next engagement. Jockey Orffer reported that he felt something amiss with BIG CHIEF in running. In view of the performance from TRACK-KING, which was held up for a run at the 400m and the 200m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. HEREFORD was hanging out on the bend, shifted out at the 1000m and clipped the heels of BIG CHIEF and stumbled. This resulted in Jockey van der Hoven, the rider of HEREFORD, becoming unbalanced and thereafter raced wide on the bend. COUNT HENRY raced green. AVIEMORE raced green and shifted out in the latter stages. ROSSINI ROYALE was awkwardly placed on the heels of BIG CHIEF at the 100m. AVIEMORE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BIG CHIEF - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. TRACK-KING - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. HEREFORD - returned cut into on the left fore.
