PATRIC was hanging in, in the straight. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. RECORD BID was hanging in from the 300m. PAYNE'S GREY was brushed inwards at approximately the 200m by BROOKIE, which shifted in. When questioned regarding his ride on FLYING FOOL, Jockey Lerena explained to the Board that this gelding had shown a tendency to hang out in the straight. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, FLYING FOOL had lugged in and taken a number of awkward strides. Jockey Lerena's version was supported by the video footage. Jockey Lerena was advised against the practice of using the crop in the drawn position in front of the saddle. In view of the performances from PERFECTUS and TAPENZEE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. BUBBLY REPLY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Maroun to be questioned regarding the improved performance of BUBBLY REPLY. Vet: PAYNE'S GREY - blowing heavily post race. PATRIC and PERFECTUS - examined post race, no significant findings. TAPENZEE - examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
