INDIGO STORM was squeezed out shortly after the start was effected. Jockey van Niekerk, the rider of LIVE LIFE, was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to proceed to the parade ring immediately after being instructed to do so by the Clerk of Scales. Jockey van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. Jockey Fourie, the rider of HARAKIRI, was charged with a contravention in that he failed to proceed to the parade ring immediately after being instructed to do so by the Clerk of Scales. Jockey Fourie signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. BOMBSHELL GIRL raced green on the bend and was awkwardly placed between the heels of CANDALEEYAH and NAVARONE at about the 700m. Apprentice Bantam, the rider of ROYAL CHIAN, dropped his left side rein approaching the 200m. Leaving the 200m INDIGO STORM was momentarily inconvenienced on the heels of EMBLEM AHOY, which had shifted out. Jockey Carstens, the rider of EMBLEM AHOY, appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger measures to keep his mount on a straight course in future. LIVE LIFE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: HARAKIRI - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise.
