AMERICAN TIGER and AQUA BLUE were slow into stride. DAYTONA CHARGER was restless in the stalls. ROYAL MASTER and BEAUFORT SEA reared in the stalls. Jockey Delpech reported that STAR POINT did not stride out freely in running. Apprentice Burke, the rider of WILD HORIZON, rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. Leaving the 1600m BEAUFORT SEA was awkwardly placed on the outside of ROYAL MASTER, which attempted to run out and thereafter was immediately straightened. DAWN ASSAULT was hanging in, in the concluding stages. Jockey van der Merwe, the rider of STUNNED, appeared before the Board and was advised against the practice of using his crop in front of the saddle in the drawn position. FRAPPACHINO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. STUNNED and AQUA BLUE raced with a tongue tie on. Vet: STUNNED - speedy cut right hind. ROYAL MASTER - abnormal respiratory noise. STAR POINT - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: ROWNAK - coughing. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for breathalyser tests and the taking of urine samples for analysis.
