THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STRIKING EAGLE (*C F Dicken) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) RED BISHOP (C Storey) over-raced in the early and middle stages proving difficult to assist. b) At approximately the 1100m, TORBEN SPIRIT (M Thackeray) and CITY DEEP (J Sampson) were carried out by THEWAYOFTHEWARRIOR (C Bantam) which commenced to over-race and switched out to avoid running onto the heels of STRIKING EAGLE (*C F Dicken). As a consequence of this, SUPREME ELEVATION raced wide around the turn and into the straight. c) At approximately the 300m, NUSSPLY (W Kennedy) had to ease and switch out to avoid the heels of BANGOR NIGHT (*J R Syster) which shifted in away from the crop. Apprentice J R Syster signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of BANGOR NIGHT, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to NUSSPLY (W Kennedy) when he shifted in at the 300m. The Board imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days. Dates of Suspension: 2 September 2020 to 8 September 2020 (both days inclusive). d) GIMMETHEGOAHEAD (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J A Soma advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) TORBEN SPIRIT was ridden by Jockey M Thackeray. b) THEWAYOFTHEWARRIOR was ridden by Jockey C Bantam (declared 25 August 2020 at 09H13). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) BANGOR NIGHT raced unshod (declared 18 August 2020 at 08H56) and without blinkers (declared 24 August 2020 at 08H09). b) STRIKING EAGLE raced equipped with blinkers (declared 24 August 2020 at 15H30). c) ASH is a grey gelding and not a bay gelding as carded. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) RED BISHOP mouth injury. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
