WHITE FEATHER stumbled at the start. LA ROCHELLE flyjumped. BAY OF ROCHELLE and TONI PERFORMS were slow into stride. Apprentice Ngcobo reported that BAY OF ROCHELLE did not stride out freely in running. At approximately the 300m NORTH WESTERLY had to switch in when awkwardly placed on the heels of BAY OF ROCHELLE, which rolled out. ANTARCTICA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding the improved performance of ANTARCTICA, Trainer Miller explained to the Board that this filly had run poorly on 15 August 2016 and in his opinion this run had followed too closely to the run on 6 August 2016. He was of the opinion that ANTARTICA was better suited to racing at approximately one-month intervals. Trainer Miller has undertaken, where possible, to race this filly at monthly intervals. LA ROCHELLE raced equipped with pacifiers. Vet: BAY OF ROCHELLE - abrasions right hind hock from pens. TONI PERFORMS - coughing. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
