SEATTLE CAPTAIN was fractious and reared prior to loading, refused to load, causing a delay and was withdrawn, intractable. Trainer Mrs Bass-Robinson will be advised that this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn until passed tractable with a companion on a race day. MINI LOUSHE was fractious in the stalls, taken out, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit and was reloaded. Trainer Nel will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled before its next engagement. MAYERLING was reluctant to load. Trainer Kotzen will be advised to have this colt re-schooled before its next engagement. MTOROSHANGA was slow into stride. Jockey Dillon reported that DUE WEST took no interest in running. Jockey Andrews reported that TURF CLUB did not stride out freely. In view of the performance from RULE ONE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the colt on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. At the 200m MAYERLING was inconvenienced for a number of strides on the heels of RULE ONE when carried in by MTOROSHANGA, which raced green. BLACK CAT BACK was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: DUE WEST and TURF CLUB - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. RULE ONE - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: MASAAR - lame on the right fore. ZETTABYTE - lame on the left hind. BREAK OUT - elevated temperature and off feed. SEATTLE CAPTAIN - intractable and was withdrawn at the start. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
