In view of the performance from CAN COPE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the mare on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Approaching the 150m SOLANA had to steady off the heels of EVOKE EMOTION, which rolled out. QUINE and TONYA were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Cele rode EVOKE EMOTION as Jockey Fourie was stood down for the remainder of the day by the Clubs Medical Officer. Vet: CAN COPE - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. SOLANA - returned cut into on the right hind.
