The start of this Race was delayed due to ARCH RIVAL lifting its left front shoe and ROYAL HONOUR lifting its right front shoe en-route to the start which were attended to by the Course Farrier and thereafter a false start being declared. ZAFIRA was restless in the stalls and reared which resulted in the front gate opening shortly before the start was effected. A false start was called by the Starter, all the horses were pulled up, returned to the start, examined by the Course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race apart from number (6) ZAFIRA which was withdrawn due to an injured head. The gates were reset and the field was reloaded. The Starting Stall Certificate for ZAFIRA has been withdrawn. She was suspended for a period of seven days until recertified tractable. PENTELIKO stood losing six lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. He was suspended for a period of seven days in terms until recertified tractable. KISSIMMEE flyjumped out the stalls. KINAAN (AUS) over-raced in the early stages. Jockey Zackey reported that STORM WARNING made an abnormal respiratory noise. COBY and THE ELMO EFFECT were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: STORM WARNING - blowing heavily post race. ARCH RIVAL - mild post race distress. KISSIMMEE - cut into right hind. Scratched: ZAFIRA - injured head in stalls.
