The start of this Race was delayed due to the previous Race delays. SON OF SILVER and BIG SI were slow into stride. TRINITY HALL jumped with his head up and thereafter was slow into stride. SOLDIER'S CODE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. NOTTINGHAM FOREST was easing back, shifted in to get cover, carrying IN THE MOMENT inwards at approximately the 900 metre mark. This resulted in BIG SI becoming cramped for galloping room on the inside running rail and having to be eased for a number of strides. Apprentice Balloo signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention, in that as the rider of NOTTINGHAM FOREST, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horses on his inside at approximately the 900-metre mark. He was suspended for a period of 7 days. In view of the performance of PRINCESS IDA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Apprentice Tarentaal was the rider of TRINITY HALL and weighed out at 49kg, claiming only 3kg of his 4kg allowance as there was no other apprentice available. Vet: PRINCESS IDA - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: VARIETY ROMP - no suitable rider.
