HEIR LINE was presented with a lead pony prior to the 1st Race for recertification after this colt was suspended on the 02.10.2016 for failing to proceed to the start. This colt proceeded to the start to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Board and accordingly the suspension has been lifted. The start of the 1st Race was delayed due to KINGS CUP and LEAGUE OF SHADOWS dislodging their riders en route to the start and bolting. There was a further delay due to OLIVER QUEEN and THE REFORMATION becoming restless in the stalls and being removed to be checked by the Veterinary Surgeon and reloaded. IF ONLY, HIVA-OA KOI, LEAGUE OF SHADOWS and ARABIAN EMPEROR lost 1 length. SHANTYTOWN lost 2 lengths. ROY'S ARK (AUS) and KILDONAN GOLD were slow into stride. OLIVER QUEEN and THE REFORMATION were restless in the stalls. LIL RED ROOSTER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. VARADISO and OLIVER QUEEN were hanging out throughout. ARABIAN EMPEROR, ASIAN STAR and SHANTYTOWN raced green. In view of the performances of ROY'S ARK (AUS) and OLIVER QUEEN, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Apprentice Mphanya, the rider of HIVA-OA KOI, had a satisfactory qualifying ride. HIVA-OA KOI raced fitted with alumites both fore and unshod behind. LEAGUE OF SHADOWS is a gelding and not a colt as carded. Vet: ROY'S ARK (AUS) and OLIVER QUEEN - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: STRAW MAN - elevated temperature. KINGS CUP - bolted; not striding out right fore and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
