ASHTON PARK and PENHALIGON lost 1 length. SILVER SPRING and FRENCH REVOLUTION were slow into stride. CELTIC CAPTAIN and ASHTON PARK were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the performances of STONEHENGE and MAMASITA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Apprentice de Gouveia reported DOUBLE CLUTCH was changing legs continuously in running. Jockey de Melo, the rider of FRENCH REVOLUTION (NZ), accidentally dropped his crop at approximately the 200-metre mark. SILVER SPRING returned post race having cast the left fore shoe. PRINCESS VARUNYA (AUS) raced with her tongue tied down.
