The start of the 8th Race was slightly delayed due to the horses leaving the parade ring late as a result of the Stipendiary Board monitoring the lightning which was in close proximity to the race track. ACTION STORY lost 1 length. PRINCIPATE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ROY'S FLYER raced wide in the early stages. Jockey Marcus reported that he felt something amiss with MANOUCHE in running. PLAY THE LAFF (AUS) and SOME SAY over-raced in the early stages. PLAY THE LAFF (AUS) is a gelding and not a colt as carded (to be investigated). Vet: MANOUCHE - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: ROYAL YEVAHN - lame left fore. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at tonight's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at tonight's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
