The start of this Race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race and was subsequently further delayed when ZAITUNAY BAY broke open the front gate, dislodged the rider and bolted. The remainder of the runners were extricated from the pens until ZAITUNAY BAY had been caught, brought in hand and withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon The starting stalls certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn and it is suspended for a period of 7 days and until recertified tractable. SNOW IN SEATTLE was stubborn loading. Trainer Botes was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. ABBEY CHASE lost 1 length. PRINCE OF PEACE shifted out away from the crop from the 250m. ABBEY CHASE was hanging in, in the concluding stages. Jockey Yeni, the rider of STRIKE IT LUCKY, and Jockey Mariba, the rider of ABBEY CHASE, appeared before the Board, were shown the patrol films of the race and advised against the practice of hitting a horse when it is out of contention for a place. An inquiry will be opened into Trainer Botes's conduct towards Dr Jones after the running of Race 4. JOEY PIPER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
